Having a Baby After 35- “Advanced Maternal Age”
While women have been told that having a baby after 35 is hard and/or dangerous, some of what has become popular wisdom is false. Did you know that the idea of declining fertility at 35 was originally based on a study done in France in the 1700s?
Listen as I share more up to date information, relevant for Black women. I'll also share what I'm personally doing as a woman hoping to conceive after 35, and why I am, in fact, very hopeful.
In this episode I go into detail about:
What actually happens to your fertility after 35
The concerns for pregnant women & babies
What to explore if you're trying to conceive in your mid-thirties and beyond
Tips for talking to your provider (and what providers to speak to)
My own personal considerations
