What is Diaper Need? with Shelly Tucker of the Maryland Diaper Bank

On this episode, in observance of National Diaper Need Awareness Week, Samantha interviews Shelly Tucker, founder of the Maryland Diaper Bank. The Maryland Diaper Bank is a non profit organization whose vision is to reduce the struggle of Maryland Families in providing babies with adequate diapering essentials. Before starting the nonprofit, Shelly created Moms with Tots, a local parenting guide to resources and activities in the Maryland/DC area.

Shelly joins Samantha to talk about:

  • What diaper need is, and who is impacted

  • Why she founded the Maryland Diaper Bank

  • How her work & passion (including her blog Moms with Tots) grows out of her own personal experiences, including motherhood

  • How to help families in need of diapers

The Maryland Diaper Bank is turning 4, and when this episode airs, it will be National Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 24 - October 2, 2022. The Diaper Bank is asking for support in filling up their new warehouse! Whether finding this episode during National Diaper Need Awareness Week, or any time, groups can gather together to host diaper drives to help us ensure babies are clean, healthy and dry!
